Heated clothing in logistics and warehouses: practical warmth during cold shifts
Share
A warehouse employee does not always spend eight hours in the same environment.
One moment, goods are being handled indoors. Shortly afterwards, the employee may be at an open loading bay, walking outside or working in a part of the building where the temperature is considerably lower.
These changing conditions can make choosing the right clothing difficult.
Why logistics is an interesting application
During physical work, the body generates its own heat. As a result, thick winter clothing can become uncomfortable during active order picking or when moving goods.
During less active periods, the same employee may then quickly start to feel cold.
This may happen while waiting at a loading bay, loading and unloading, checking stock, supervising operations, working near doors that are regularly left open or moving between indoors and outdoors.
A clothing layer with adjustable heat can offer a practical advantage in these situations.
Why choose a heated vest?
A heated vest leaves the arms free, which can make it an interesting option for work where freedom of movement is important.
Depending on the workwear and conditions, the employee can wear it as an additional layer.
The KingsPower heated vest has three heat settings, allowing the level of additional warmth to be adjusted. During more physical activity, the heat can be turned down or switched off. During quieter or colder periods, the employee can select a higher setting.
Not a replacement for suitable workwear
For professional use, heated clothing must always be assessed within the existing working environment.
Where specific PPE, high-visibility clothing or certified protective clothing is required, those requirements remain the priority. A heated vest is an additional comfort layer, not a replacement for prescribed safety clothing.
Power banks during a working day
The power supply is also important for business use.
A higher heat setting draws more power from a power bank than a lower setting. With the supplied power bank, the heated vest lasts approximately 8 hours at the 45 °C setting, approximately 6 hours at 55 °C and approximately 4 hours at 65 °C. Actual battery life depends on the conditions and the condition of the power bank.
For businesses that want to use the clothing during long shifts, it is therefore advisable to determine in advance how employees will use it and whether power banks will need to be recharged or exchanged.
Relevant for more than warehouses alone
The same application may be relevant for transport companies, delivery services, technical services, event logistics, distribution centres and employees who regularly work in outdoor areas.

Buying heated clothing for your business
A business order raises different questions from a single consumer purchase. Which sizes are needed? How many employees will receive a garment? What work do they carry out? When will the clothing be used? And how many items are required?
KingsPower will prepare a quotation based on this information. Business orders are available from 10 items.
