Assess cold-related risks

Employers should assess exposure to cold and include suitable controls in the workplace risk assessment. There is no single universal minimum temperature for every task.

Use a hierarchy of measures

Consider shelter, warm break areas, shorter exposure, task rotation, dry clothing and suitable PPE before relying on personal heating.
